AREA-51 M15X GAMING LAPTOPS ON THE FIRING LINE

Many associates in our Alienware forum have run into performance related issues with their new Area-51 m15x gaming laptops. While playing games, the CPU overheats after a certain period of time and then under clocks to keep it cool, resulting in substandard gaming performance. Our members have been very frank about the issue, and complaints have broadened across the Internet.

Alienware has been aggressively participating in our forums and working with members to determine the issue. According to their newest official post the cause of the problem has been found.

This communication comes from Frank Azor, VP of Alienware's Product Group:

"Over the weekend, we tested quite a few solutions for the m15x issue related to graphics overheating. We have verified that the subject surrounds the software-controlled thermal profiles not executing as designed. We have created and will allocate a beta BIOS to all customers who have emailed us observing this issue.
