VIA LAUNCHES HD CAPABLE SURFBOARD NETNOTES

In size and design the new VIA SurfBoard family of NetNotes resemble netbooks, but in capability the machines are comparable to notebooks. Official Press Release claims that the SurfBoards are capable of decoding 1080 HD video.
The new laptops feature 10.2 and 12.1 inch displays. They will make use of the VIA VX855 media system processor and will be powered by either the VIA C7-M ULV or the VIA Nano CPU.
The SurfBoard netnotes can play video standards such as H.264, MPEG-2/4, VC-1 and WMV9. They offer long battery life and come with a lightweight design. Optional features include integrated 3G and HDMI.

VISTA CAPABLE LAWSUIT LOSES CLASS ACTION STATUS

This one comes as a bit of a surprise seeing that so many goverments around the world are so interested in suing Microsoft to help pay for their fledging economies.

Anyway's Judge Maesha Pechman has stripped the suit against Microsoft of its class action status. Appearnly Microsoft was able to convice that people's confusion over the stickers meaning didn't "predominate over individual considerations."

This does not mean you can't sue Microsoft over those stickers. It just means that you and a bunch of your Mac buddies can't try and get it class action status.

We're not sure what Microsoft had to pull to get this, but we're thinking that they might be doing an out of court settlement and who know's, maybe Judge Maesha got a peek at that new Zune phone Microsoft has been denying in return.
