DELL PRECISION M6300 WITH SSD – DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE - REVIEW

The Dell Precision M6300 is a 17" is primarily targeted to be a desktop replacer and aimed at towards businesses that require a full-featured system with outstanding build standards. This laptop competes head on with the notebooks as the HP Compaq 8710p, HP Compaq 8710w and Fujitsu Life-Book N6470.

Design
The uncomplicated seem to be and experience is matched with an even stronger and more hard-wearing framework. During our strenuous testing no plastic noises or squeaks could be witnessed. In fact, even with excessive force when applied to the LCD lid the lid objected to flex. The complete substructure shell is a metal alloy which provides the notebook a physically powerful footprint on your desk, and is provides adequate strength to oppose bending if you hold the notebook by the edge of the palm rest walking through the room.
Performance
The Dell Precision M6300 as specified packs in it more than enough speed and storeroom space to meet with most users requirements. The base-level Intel T7250 and NVidia Quadro FX 1600M pooled with a blazingly express SSD make this notebook an outstanding performer, for both multimedia usage and even number crunching. The M6300 provides a wide array of hardware specifications, as well as a 64GB Samsung solid state drive for the businesses that necessitate intense ruggedness and excessive performance Processors series from the T7250and climbing all the way up to the X9000, RAM from 1GB to 4GB, flaunt resolutions starting at WXGA+ up to WUXGA, and powered with either NVIDIA Quadro FX 1600M or NVIDIA Quadro FX 3600M isolated graphics.

The keyboard and palm rest arrangement matches the muscle of the base panel of this notebook. Unlike customary Hard Disk Drives (HDDs) with moving components that are prone to crash and data loss when they are given an impact, Solid State Drives (SSDs) are flash oriented storage units with no revolving parts. Port assortment was not a difficulty, although I would have preferred seeing a HDMI port, but the insertion of a DVI port is a sensible conciliation and possibly more useful in a business environment. Under customary web browsing usage the 9-cell battery power pack performed reasonably well, pumping out 3 hours and 42 minutes of sprint life before going into sleep mode at two percent.
Conclusion
This Dell 17" notebook is an immense artist and tremendously well built notebook. It seems to be built well sufficient to be thrown around in day to day utilization, and hold up throughout a levelheaded life cycle in a business environment. The SSD feature, while pricey, extensively improves both robustness and concert of this laptop.

DELL PRECISION M6300 REVIEW

The Dell Precision M6300 is a notebook which is designed for heavy multimedia applications and 3D work. The graphics performance is its strength, and so is its design. Lets explore.

Design

The laptop has a black, gray and silver finish to it which might appeal to only few. The usage of magnesium alloy makes the notebook very sturdy and great overall. The weight might be a drawback, with 3.8 kgs being on the higher side. The screen is a 17” WXGA+ with maximum resolution of 1440x900, and it was a disappointment on the whole. It had poor viewing angles and light bleed to, which should not have been there since this laptop is intended towards the multimedia professionals crowd. They keyset is good enough, and well placed, and the touchpad is also good and has the option of programming the center key. The connectivity options have been well selected and placed, with 2 USB 2.0 ports and DVD drive lining the left, AC Adapter, DVI/VGA port, 4 USB, Ethernet and S-Video at the back. Right has Express card, smart card and Firewire.

Performance
The M6300 came with a 2.2 GHz Core-2-Duo processor, 2GB RAM and 120GB Hard drive and gave good results in all the benchmarks. Multi-tasking was a breeze, with not even slight lag while Photoshop, browsers, Winamp etc were open. The performance in gaming and applications which require heavy 3D work was marvelous, and the laptop scored a superb 5,438 in 3DMark 06. The wireless results were decent too, and good speeds were easily achieved. The laptop died after 3 hours of DVD playback and nearly 2.5 hours while working with heavy 3d applications and gaming. The battery life can be termed as above average for such tasks.

Conclusion
A great notebook in all, but it could have done more with a better screen. The graphics performance is flawless, and so is the multi-tasking capability. If they can improve the screen, this notebook is going to run a long way in this market.

Pros
+ Good bang for buck
+ Superb GPU

Cons
- Poor and flawed screen
- Bulky

GREAT FOR 3D DESIGNERS – DELL PRECISION M6300 NOTEBOOK

Dell Precision M6300 Notebook is especially intended to fulfill the needs of 3D designers. Apart from being a powerful workstation notebook, M6300 also offers an amazing bulletproof frame along with loads of great configurations. As it addresses the 3D graphic designer, it is integrated with high-end graphics card and a wide screen display of 17-inch WXGA 1440 X 900 resolution. When it comes to design, the notebook is even more impressive. You will find aluminum like lid, gray, black and sliver cover-up more like a Spartan look. The build-in is very strong due to its magnesium-alloy frame, patented Strike Zone technology used to protect your wide-screen display, extremely hard on the bottom side.

Now lets see the performance part, as the notebook is incorporated with Windows XP there are actually no issue with booting and starting up after sleep mode. The hard drive moves at 7200rpm, quite noisy but decent enough. The laptop has powerful Intel Core 2 Duo PU T7500 working at 2.20GHz and a RAM space of 2GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM Memory. You will find great comfort working with Photoshop, FTP, Flash, and Winamp with sufficient speed. Additionally, you get 9-cell batter, Finger Print Reader, and Internal Dell Bluetooth Card WXP 360. Graphics is supported by NVIDIA Quardro FX 1600M making it a best choice for buying!
