TOSHIBA SATELLITE U400/U405 REVIEW - TRULY THE ONE THROWN FROM THE OUTER SPACE – REAL VALUE

The Toshiba Satellite U400/U405 variants are obtainable with a variety of Intel processors (ranging from the 1.73GHz Pentium Dual-Core T2370 up to the T8300 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo Penryn). There is only a single offer of 13.3" screen available. The system is tagged at a starting price of $767.20 at the time of this script.

Design
Like most laptops with a 13.3" wide spec display the U405 is on the lines of the thin-and-light and ultra portable streamliners. With a mass of more than 4 and half pounds it isn't the feathery laptop in its class. Similarly, since the laptop is 1 inch thick at its sleaziest point the U405 falls in the "middle of the pack" among recent 13.3 inch units systems. While the U405 may be comparatively a little thicker and heavier than Apple's Mac Book Air or even Lenovo's ThinkPad X300, the U405 is a far more user friendly laptop with the faultless equilibrium of form and function.

Performance
Toshiba chose to offer the U400/U405 variants in a series of arrangements opening with the Intel Pentium Dual-core T2370 (1.73GHz) and spiking all the way up to the Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 (2.4GHz) processor. While the admission-level Pentium dual core units with its 1MB of L2 cache and 533MHz front side bus still offers sensible performance under the demanding Vista control, it's good to recognize that the Core 2 Duo Penryn processor is an alternative for people who necessitate quicker multimedia indoctrination.

The flaunt panel is a 13.3" lustrous screen with WXGA resolution capabilities of 1280x800. The performance of the screen is in total synch with the unit. Toshiba finished the verdict to use the novel "Fusion" dressing on the keyboard keys and this provides the keyboard on the U405 a noticeably smooth feel. The U405 is still well planted with the provision of three USB ports and the list of goodies in connectivity is joined by the ranks of Express Card slot and Ethernet port. The 6-cell power pack that houses the 4800mAh Li-Ion battery grants exceptional battery life for the U405. The 6-cell distributed 3 hours and 48 which is quiet an encouraging info.

Conclusion
A laptop is more than the addition of its parts. For few years now Toshiba has administered to construct solid laptops but they didn't enliven the consumers… until now. With the launch of U400/U405 it’s easy to convince that Toshiba is nearing the range of a full circle.

Pros
+ Realistically thin and light weight
+ Great display
+ Magnificent keyboard
+ Good distribution of ports
+ Exceptional performance
+ Cool value

Cons
