ZEPTO NOTUS A12 REVIEW – SHOWS A BIGGER HEART WITH LOW PERFORMANCE

Fitting to the spring time of year Zepto releases a radiance sub laptop called Notus A12. Notus - the south blustery weather in Greek folklore – has the probable to alter the ranking of sub laptops and ultra mobile PCs (UMPCs). The subsequent review clarifies which innovative trends are laid down by the Notus A12.

Design
The Zepto Notus A12 merits the title sub laptop. With a dimension of 29.5 x 21.0 x 3.4 centimeter it fits into all briefcases. An exclusive, but very forceful magnesium alloy is utilized for the outer parts, which banks space, decreases weight, and at the equivalent time improves constancy. The result is a plume light but very sturdy sub laptop with 1.37 kilogram. The magnesium casing doesn't make a sound if the laptop is lifted up on the 2 front edges. While other sub notebooks begin to squeak due to munificent usage of plastic elements, the Notus A12 build with metal maintains silence.

Performance
The presentation of the Notus is considerably underneath Core 2 Duo level. This doesen’t come as a shock, since the Notus A12 utilizes power saving hardware constituents of mini computers. Intel launched the Intel Ultra Mobile Platform in 2007, with the cryptogram name "McCaslin" for MIDs and UMPCs, at the IDF in 2007. One of the chief benefits of constituents based on that platform is the enormously low power utilization during characteristic UMPC practice of less than 10 watt. Customary laptops necessitate far more, but also proffer far more concert.
Zepto's Notus A12 is power-driven by a ULV 945GU-express chipset (nickname "Little River") and an A110 solitary core processor (nickname "Stealey"). The A110 is a Pentium M ("Dothan") dependent on outmoded 90nm expertise with a diminutive 512KByte L2-cache and a clock rate of up to 800MHz, as well as a frontage side bus of 400MHz. It is understandable that low power consumption of less than 2 watt were more significant than presentation. Our Notus A12 also enclosed 1024MByte DDR2 RAM, which is by now the maximum probable quantity and unquestionably not too much for Vista.

The lone 6.5 millimeter thin 12.1" WXGA LCD flaunts of the Zepto Notus A12 is exceptional. 2 hot keys smooth the progress of scheming Zepto's Notus A12 a bit. The left P1 key can be positioned to any purpose the consumer desires, while the right Eco key switches to power saving, or back to standard mode. Keyboard, power switch and hot keys are secluded in opposition to splash water to carry on the injure from mishaps with fluids as stumpy as probable.

Overall
Zepto's Notus A12 administers to fetch novel aspects with its amalgamation of sub notebook and UMPC. The tremendously power saving hardware constituents made of Intel's MID and UMPC platforms, united with a high eminence magnesium casing and a 12.1" LCD exhibit with LED back light are an attractive mix.

Pros
+ 1, 37 Kilo light weight
+ Level and compact in dimension
+ Tough magnesium casing
+ Water & Shock resistant
+ Biometric scanner
+ Very low power consumption and economical pricing

Cons
- Low on the whole concert
- Unsatisfactory intensity for outdoor usage
- RAM cannot be upgraded
