ASUS ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF NEW SEASHELL EEE PC

Asus has announced the launch of its thin-and-light netbook Eee PC SeaShell 1101HA. This series of netbooks will have a stylish design with sleek curves and smooth lines. The Asus 1101HA will have 11.6 inch display which will be the largest on any Eee PC.

Asus claims that the new line will have an impressive battery life thanks to the power efficient Super Hybrid Engine. 1101HA will have built-in Bluetooth support. It will also support 802.11n standard making it possible to surf the net faster than before. The touchpad will support the Multi-Touch gesture input feature. Other features include SRS Premium Sound which would provide better audio quality.

FIRST LOOK AT ASUS EEE PC SEASHELL 1005HA

Asus has updated its Eee PC range of netbooks. The new Eee PC netbooks will sport a new design and two new colors – white and pink – in addition to black.

The Asus 1005HA has similar specifications to the 1000HE. The major differences are in the outer appearance and decreased weight. The 1005HA also claims to have a better battery life.

The 1005HA will be available in two configurations – one sporting a 1.66GHz processor and the other sporting a 1.66GHz N270. The N280 version will have a 1.3 megapixel webcam. The other version will have a 0.3 megapixel webcam.

Ports and Slots
Port selection is OK. There are USB ports, VGA, memory card reader, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, 3.5mm audio jack.

Keyboard and touchpad
The keyboard sports a wider, flatter key layout. The full sized shift key is another feature that would please many. The touchpad is easy to use.

Performance
Boot times are fast. The more powerful N280 delivers satisfactory performance. The less powerful N270 has difficulty decoding HD video content. These is no discrete graphics card, so gaming is out of question.

No easy access panel to components that are likely to be upgraded
