LENOVO MIGHT HAVE 12-INCH IDEAPAD S20 IN THE WORKS

You're probably sick of all the netbook news you've been hearing lately. Yes so are we. But with the state of the world economy as it is, Apple and Voodoo are not making too many fans with people's pockets so we might as well brace ourselves because netbooks are gonna continue coming.

LENOVO MIGHT BRING ION TO LARGER NETBOOKS

Ion has been the promise to all our graphical needs in the netbook and nettop arena. And so far NVIDIA has been on track to bringing us some systems with said chips built in.

But according to Commercial Times, Lenovo might ship 11.6 and 12.1 inch NVIDIA Ion-based netbooks in the future. What is quite odd about this is that Intel has recently filed a complaint against NVIDIA claiming that they do not have right to manufacture GPU for certain of their chips even though they continue to do it.

But even despite that Intel claims that they will sell the chips separately so that Ion can come to life. Yes we know you're just as confused as us. We'll be on top of this though and notify you if anything comes out of this unreliable source.

HP MIGHT BE BRINGING NEW MINI-NOTES TO PLAY

Its not been a good week since HP updated the Mini-Note 2133 with the Mini 2140. But according to DigiTimes it would seem that the company behind one of the best netbooks to be released is thinking about outdoing themselves.

According to DigiTimes a new WWAN-enabled Mini-note 2150 would be released in early June and would feature a 13.3-inch screen. There is also talk of an 11.6-inch model. Both models would run Intel's Atom processor.

As we said before, this is just a rumor and should be taking with a spoon of salt seeing that many of DigiTimes informers do not have all screws tightened.

5 REASONS WHY A NETBOOK MIGHT NOT BE GOOD FOR YOU

No doubt that you have heard of the latest craze in the notebook world, this small, cute little systems that come with the mini displays and run Window's XP or Linux. Now if you haven't been pressured into purchasing one here are some things to consider before going out and getting one.

PRICE: Simply put most netbooks are not worth the price. The average price of a Window's equipped netbook is $400. If you should add $100-150 to that you can get yourself a nice computer from Dell or HP with double the features.

PROCESSOR: Seriously, can you live with a computer that can only surf the web, play a few tunes and maybe watch a YouTube Video or two? If your average tasks include the following than a netbook is right for you but if you are the type who likes your Photoshop or Avid than you are in bad business.

PORTABILITY: Probably the most important question you will ask yourself is if it is worth it to sacrifice performance for portability? If you spend most of your time on the road than the answer to this is obvious, but if you hardly travel than you might want to think twice before picking one up.

SCREEN SIZE: Honestly, a 1080x800 screen resolution will not cut it for most users and if you are thinking about doing anything other than viewing web pages be prepared for a lot of vertical scrolling. Not only that but the smaller the screen size is the more strain it puts on the eyes which means you could be visiting the eye doctor a littler earlier than you thought.

OS: The two major options for netbooks these days are XP and some version of Linux. Recent studies found that Linux notebooks were returned 60% more than their XP counterparts. Why is that you ask? Mainly because people want to do more with their computer than surfing and multimedia. They want the regular programs they use on Window's on their.

So before you take the plunge be think about it seriously. I'm not telling you to give up on the netbooks but if you are thinking about turning one into your primary computer you should definitely give it second and even third thought.
