FUJITSU PAVES THE WAY FOR ULTRA LIGHT AND ULTRA THIN BUSINESS MACHINES

Today’s modern epoch demands efficiency and utmost mobility in everything that we do including the way we design the most important tools of our trades. People who are engaged in computing, programming and data examination are now thinking of newer ways of making the daily travel lighter and more enjoyable without sacrificing the computing power of the machines they carry.

Fujitsu has just recently unveiled two new bets for the portable laptop category:

• Fujitsu Lifebook S6510
• Fujitsu Lifebook S7210
Fujitsu Lifebook S6510
These two new notebooks were built for security, durability and style. People who are constantly on the move can depend on the internal infrastructure of the Fujistu Lifebooks the same way that people can trust this company’s copiers and fax machines.

The specs

For those who are wondering what “ultra thin” mean for the two new Fujitsu Lifebooks, the actual measurement is about an inch thick only. With that dimension, you can easily slip it into a non-specialized plastic folder, bag it, and forget about it. Compare to other ultra thin models, this one is a keeper with added durability.

What separates these lightweight contenders for the ultraportable category is their screen size: 14 inches across, to give you all viewing space you might possibly need while altering a company presentation or while watching the occasional DVD movie. The F.L. S6910 weighs just 2 kilos, and even less when you remove the 6-cell battery and other peripherals.

Unlike other ultraportable notebooks, The S6910 and the S7210 both have the much-need optical drives that can be used for countless useful activities, such as reading media and re-installing operating systems in times of trouble. For those who are not into digital storage completely, optical drives offer the possibility of creating back up CDs easily, for important documents and archived materials.

The Fujitsu Lifebooks were designed for the so called “road warriors” of this age: those who are constantly moving from place to place, and need computing machines that would work efficiently in any situation and would connect seamlessly with any network, whether that network be in Sumatra, in New York or in Tokyo.

For the road warriors

Road warriors need machines like the Fujitsu Lifebooks, because these hardy laptops run on Intel Core Duo 2 microprocessors that deliver a swift and sustained performance especially for memory intensive applications such as media editors and similar programs. Whether the user is engaged in advertising or in auditing, the Fujitsu Lifebooks are efficient partners in keeping everything intact.

Lifebooks are equipped for durability- the hard drives are shock-proof and are resilient during repeated transportation and travel. The Lifebooks have also been manufactured using magnesium alloy, one of the more popular choices for laptop bodies because it is more durable but at the same time, very lightweight.

For those who are wondering whether the Lifebooks can be used for online video meetings or conferences or presentations, the answer is a quite positive “Yes!” The Lifebooks have been installed with 1.3 megapixel webcams, adequate for many of the common communication situations over the Internet. Truly, Fujitsu has created “life sustaining” notebooks with these two Lifebooks.

LACIE LAUNCHES PORTABLE DVD±RW WITH LIGHT SCRIBE

The souk of external USB-powered drives has been on the rise and changing rapidly, with new designs striking the market at an ever increasing pace. LaCie, best known for their stylish external devices, has of late introduced a new USB-powered tray loading DVD burner designed by the world-famous Sam Hecht. This gracefully shaped chocolate-brown tray-loading USB-powered DVD drive will surely twist some heads.

An external power supply and supplementary USB power cable are incorporated in the package, at no time were they required for the drive to function. The drive worked on multiple laptops burning CD's devoid of any interruption of power. For older laptops, or some situation where you encounter a device that cannot pass enough current over the single USB cable, that is where the supplementary items would come in handy.

Noise during operation was a bit louder than other external drives we have used, but nothing like the 5.25" monster desktop drive inside a USB case that we have sitting around as a backup. Seeking and spin-up is roughly the same as you would find in an average notebook. This shouldn't surprise you though, as it has the exact same type of dive found in most notebooks.

Users looking for a bit setting attuned drive look no further. This drive supports bit setting, which enhances compatibility with older DVD-ROM players that don't always shore up DVD+R/RW media.

As recommended by the name of the drive, this drive includes Light Scribe capabilities. Light Scribe allows you to engrave text labels and images onto the surface of the DVD rather than use sticky labels that may jam an optical drive. LaCie is also the solitary company to offer Light Scribe software that works with Mac OS.

SLIM AND LIGHT FUJITSU LIFEBOOK S6510 NOTEBOOK

Fujitsu LifeBook series is been well accepted by people and now it has something different to offer. Another notebook from Fujitsu model number S6510 is extremely slim and light with pretty big screen. Some may usually crib about Fujitsu batteries, but this one is not bad, along with you also get a option to double it up by making use of two batteries simultaneously. Fujitsu LifeBook S6510 may sound expensive when compared to the features offered. However, it may go well with people that enjoy using thin and light models; it weighs only 1.75g, comprising a rationally vivid 1280-by-800 pixel 14.1-inch screen.

In addition, with the optical drive and second battery used into the laptop would weights up to 2kg. As I told earlier battery life is pretty decent, it last up to 3.7 hours and 10 minutes. It may endure up to 6.2 hours if double battery has been used for operation. This LifeBook S6510 from Fujitsu comes with standard 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo T7700 processor and additional 4GB hunk of prime memory. It is impressive with the WorldBench 6 Beta 2 scores of 74 was little better than the normal mainstream notebook’s score of 72, so that the S6510 must be sufficient to handle most of the tools.
