Acer has officially announced a new netbook called Aspire One 532h. The device is powered by an Intel Pine Trail Atom N450 processor.
The Aspire One 532h is equipped with a 10.1 inch display. Word is that Acer may offer a higher resolution display with 1280 x 720 pixels as an optional feature. Other specifications are pretty regular. You will get 1 GB of RAM, a 160GB/250GB hard drive and a 6 cell 4400mAh battery. For graphics there is the integrated GMA 3150. The device will run Windows 7 Starter Edition.
The netbook will support WiFi 802.11b/g/n. It is not clear whether Bluetooth will also be offered. The touchpad will reportedly support multi-touch gestures.
Pricing and Availability
No info on availability as yet, but the base configuration is expected to start at $299.
We'll warn you, don't get too excited about this one unless the recession is not hitting you. Anyways, Dell has just announced their 13.4-inch Adamo notebook. If you remember, said model was pranced around on stage at CES but a paper thin model (human) before being whisked away and sent backstage where some geeks were able to shoot some pics of it.
The MSI GT627 which was cited at the CSI is now announced officially. The GT627 is the newest addition to the MSI's gaming notebook series and packs some hi-fi features with the sole purpose of providing an ultimate multimedia and gaming experience. The GT627 features the NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GS graphics processing unit(GPU), a first in the MSI's gaming notebooks series. This GPU will support NVIDIA CUDA technology to experience CUDA based applications like GPU-accelerated game physics and video conversion. It is a power saver and also takes care of video decoding. According to the VP of Sales, MSI US, “This GPU will allow us optimize performance and deliver unparalleled graphics for gamers on-the-go.” While the General Manager of the notebook business unit at NVIDIA said, "Whether viewing or editing photos, finding directions, playing a game, or watching a hi-def movie, the MSI GT627 with the NVIDIA® GeForce® 9800M GS GPU runs silky smooth, with amazing visuals. The GT627 also comes with MSI's exclusive Turbo Drive Engine Technology, which with just a touch of a button above the keyboard can overclock the system by 15%, while the GT627 runs in AC mode. Well there's more, the GT627 also has a brand new ECO Engine, a unique power management function and with a touch of the ECO quick launch touch sensor, it is possible to switch between 5 different modes which includes gaming mode, office mode, movie mode, presentation mode and the turbo battery mode while you are performing any one of these modes. WOW. The whole ensemble is housed in a sleek anodized brushed aluminum case. Both the LCD lid and the palm rest are covered with stamped aluminum sheeting to withstand any game bashing. There is still no word on the price and this ultimate gamer is expected to be retailed by next month.
Sony has finally made an official unveiling of this much rumored notebook in style. The Sony VAIO P series has a unique shape and is the lightest 8-inch nbook to grace the PC market so far, weighing just 1.4 pounds. This ultraportable fashion statement may be light in weight but packs some state-of -the-art hi-tech features like real-time GPS for navigation, mobile broadband connectivity through Verizon Wireless EV-DO network and 
instant-on functionality which helps to bypass Vista for instant access to the web, videos, images and music.The 8-inch display has a spectacular resolution of 1600x768 pixels. As the screen is small Sony has included a shortcut button to view parts of the screen instead of scrolling from side-to-side which can be really tedious. The Sony VAIO P also has a feature that will place all the open windows one beside the other with just a touch of a button.
It has a standard 3 cell battery which gives about 4 hours of life. You can go for the optional 6 cell battery that gives about 8 hours of life, but will cost you $129 more. The Sony VAIO P series comes in vibrant colors of red, blue, black, green and white. You can also go for a color matching carrying cases and Bluetooth mouse which will be available from Sony very soon.
