HP has officially announced the release of its Mini 311 (Compaq Mini 311 in Europe) ION powered netbook. The HP Mini 311 has an 11.6 inch display sporting a high resolution (1366x768). It will be powered by an Intel Atom 1.6GHz N270 processor. Other specifications include 1GB of RAM and 160GB of hard disk capacity.
The keyboard is nearly full-sized. The official HP press release confirms that the netbook will come with an entry level Nvidia ION LE. It will run on the Windows XP operating system. Other features include 5-in-1 card reader, three USB ports and audio jacks.
The Mini 311 will reach the US market on September 23 with a starting price of $399. HP will also release a version featuring the Windows 7 OS.
