KOHJINSHA DZ GETS REBRANDED AS ONKYO DX


Kohjinsha made news a couple of months ago by releasing a laptop with two side-by-side displays. The Kohjinsha DZ as it is called is only available in Japan. Now another dual-screen laptop has also hit the Japanese market. The Onkyo DX appears to be a rebranded version of the Kohjinsha DZ. It is also only available in Japan.

The Onkyo DX has two 1366 x 768 pixel displays. Other specifications include a 1.6 GHz AMD Athlon Neo MV-40 processor, ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics, up to 4GB of RAM and a 320GB hard drive. There are 3 USB ports. The connectivity options include Bluetooth 2.1, 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Ethernet. The machine runs Windows 7 Home Premium.

Pricing and Availability
The Onkyo DX is now available for purchase in Japan. But at ¥84,800 or about $961 US, it is awfully expensive for a laptop of this size and capabilities.

KOHJINSHA DZ NETBOOK TO GO ON SALE IN JAPAN


Kohjinsha made news in October by announcing a netbook with a dual-screen. The company has already released demo videos featuring the device. The weird slider is now ready and raring to go. Kohjinsha will put the device on sale in Japan on December 11th.

The dual-screen DZ carries a price tag of $920. For that price you will get a netbook with a 1.6GHz AMD Neo MV-40 processor, S780MN chipset, an ATI Radeon HD 3200 integrated graphics chipset, 1 GB of RAM and a 160 GB hard drive. Memory is expandable to 4 GB. Other features include gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, 3 USB ports, audio in/out and a fingerprint reader.

The Kohjinsha DZ netbook has a 6-cell battery which is expected to give up to 4.5 hours of runtime. The 10.1 inch displays feature 1024 x 600 pixels each.

KOHJINSHA UNVEILS NETBOOK WITH TWO SCREENS


Kohjinsha unveiled a unique netbook with two 10.1 inch LCD displays at CEATEC 09. The secondary display sits behind the primary display and can slide out to sit side-by-side with the primary display. The displays are available at either 1024 x 600 or 1366 x 768 pixels.

The device is powered by a 1.6GHz AMD Athlon NeoMv-40 processor and runs on the Windows 7 operating system. Up to 4GB of RAM can be installed. The storage capacity is 160GB. Other features include TV Tuner, fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 2.1.

Kohjinsha has not yet announced any official release dates. Actually, this is only a prototype device and may remain just that. But if the concept does become a reality, don’t expect the device to offer good battery life.

AVERATEC AVN0270NB AND KOHJINSHA ML6 RELEASED IN JAPAN



Two different netbooks have recently been launched in Japan. According to Akihabara News these are the Kohjinsha ML6 netbook and Averatec AVN0270NB from Trigem. Though neither of the products belongs to any leading laptop or computer manufacturing brands, but still they are considered to be of standard quality in their respective grade. Such models are found in U.S.

The Trigem AVN0270NB netbook has a bigger screen size of 10-inches while the Kohjinsha ML6L16A netbook possess a screen size of 8.9-inches. The Trigem model has an Intel Atom N270 processor, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB HDD and an Intel 945 GMS chipset. Also it has WiFi and a battery life of 5 hours. You will get it in the Japanese market worth 340 Euro.

Coming to another one that is the Kohjinsha ML6L16A, an upgrade version of the earlier ML6 netbook, will come in black, white, Bordeaux, blue, pink and champagne colors. The screen size has already been mentioned. And besides that it consists of an Intel Atom N270 (1.6 GHz) CPU, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, WiFi. The price tag is not yet fixed.

The availability of these models is within Japan only and not internationally.
