HERCULES PLANS TO RELEASE ITS eCAFE EC - 1000W IN THE US

Hercules, a company known for making computer peripherals, also has some netbooks to its credit. You can’t quite call them performance machines and they have never been available in the US. But now Hercules plans to release its eCAFE EC-1000W in the US. It is expected to sell for about $399.

The eCAFE EC-1000W has a 10 inch display with 1024 x 600 pixels. It has regular netbook specifications. The netbook is powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor with 1GB of RAM and a 250GB hard disk drive. It runs Windows 7 Starter Edition. Other features include WiFi 802.11b/g/n.

Since netbooks usually have more or less the same hardware, the biggest selling point is the design. The eCAFE EC-1000W can probably score in this department. It has an attractive design with a nice color scheme. The keyboard is chiclet-styled and the touchpad is of reasonable size.
