CLEVO AIMS THE BIGGER SHARE

In count to mounting its channel occurrence in China, Taiwan-based 2second-tier laptop PC maker Clevo is setting up to reorganize its laptop product line stratagem and anticipates to ship more or less 1.2 million laptops in 2008, according to industry fonts. Clevo's laptop policy for 2008 will not spotlight on mounting production capability, but in its place focus on acquiring industrialized orders for mid-range and high-end laptops plus spiraling its rugged laptop product line for defense and industrial purposes.

Presently, Clevo is gradually stepping out into the laptop brand market and escalating the number of laptop ODM orders from product companies in Europe and North America, particularly the gaming laptop sector, which has totaled overall up to 10% of the company's overall shipment of around 100,000 units to 120,000 units per annum. US-based Alienware is the Clevo's major client, hauled the sources. A spokesperson of Alienware, however, affirmed that Alienware no longer utilizes Clevo as an ODM. Clevo showed off revenues of US$39.95 million in March, an overall growth of 49.46% on year, while revenues in the 1st quarter of this year spiked up and reached NT$3.59 billion, an overall increase of 68.59% on year.
