HP LAPTOP SECURITY FLAW

Serious flaws in software update tools in the HP notebooks seems to have caused a havoc among its users. The security flaws in the ActiveX control causes write access to remote systems which has lead to freezing of the systems and leaving them unbootable. The users suffering from this effect were the ones using Internet Explorer version 6 or 7. These users are tricked by hackers to visit malicious sites, who then corrupt the files and turns the notebooks into unbootable bricks. HP tried to disable the vulnerable components but according to a researcher, this will only make the system more vulnerable in the future.
