The upcoming 2nd generation Asus EEE PC (rumored to be tagged the EEE PC 900) will feature an all new 8.9-inch screen with touch screen panels and a possible GPS support according to Kevin Lin, vice president of Asustek's sales division. Prices for the 2nd generation EEE’s will hit out around $500, and shipments are projected to start in May or June. Other features of the 2nd generation EEE include the implementation of Intel's new low cost mobile platform variant, coupled with a doubled memory on the base model (1GB), and a larger capacity SSD’s (Either 8GB or 12GB). Asus plans to ship up to 5 million EEE PC units in 2008.
