ACER TAKES THE LEAD, DELL DROPS DOWN

Dell slipped to 3rd as HP retains its market leading positions, against a growth rate of 41 per cent in 2007. Notebooks continued to outgrow the rest of the market during 2007, according to the latest stipulations from DisplaySearch. The results revealed that HP equipped them on top of the global Notebook market, accounting for around 20% of all sales during the year. However, the Striking news was that TAIWAN based manufacturer Acer displaced Dell to be judged the second largest vendor of Notebooks worldwide.

Account Acer's recent purchases of Packard Bell and Gateway, Acer managed to outsell Dell by around 600,000 units. And just under 1.5 million units, behind market leader HP. Toshiba ended fourth largest vendor of notebooks managed to hold on to its position, despite recent breakthroughs by Apple and Asus.
