ASUS EEE PC 701 REVIEW

Introduction
This laptop is extremely cheap and extremely small. The price is only 169 Euro for this ultra portable laptop.

Design
The Eee laptop from Asus is one of the smallest laptops on the market. The laptop weights only 920g and features only a 7-inch screen. The Eee looks like a toy I could buy for my son, but actually the Eee is so much more than that. The design of this laptop is great, not only is it small and ultra-potable, but it also looks good with the clean white color. However since this laptop is so small, there is not much room for a good keyboard. To put it in another way “people with bigger fingers should stay away from this machine at all costs”.

There are however many useful ports and facilities on this laptop. You get 3 USB ports a video output, memory card reader and an Ethernet port etc. This small laptop even features a webcam which works great. However the speakers is of poor quality but they work fine for office use.

Performance
The laptop comes with an Intel Celeron M ULV on 900MHz and 512MB RAM. As you see this is not a gaming machine but it works great for office use or if you are into playing flash games. The battery life is however great and lasted 3 hours and 30 minutes. When it comes to hard disks for the Eee, you can freely choose between a 2GB and a 4GB hard disk. It is important to note that the Eee laptop doesn't use a Microsoft operating system, which is part of the reason it's so inexpensive. Instead, Asus supplies its own Linux-based graphical user interface. This “OS” is good in general but there are not some many opportunities for it was in Windows.

Conclusion
I cannot say anything negative about the machine because it is so cheap. The laptop offers great performance for the price and it also got many facilities. The only negative thing is the small keyboard, so if you are a big guy you better stay away.
