Not too long back Owen Thor Walker was a wealthy rich teenager. At 18, the New Zealander was running a massive bot-net that reported to have controlled thousands of computers and which had illegally skimmed away $20.4 million from the bank accounts of its victims. Today Walker stands as a accused convicted criminal after admitting 6 charges of using computers for unlawful purposes. He was taken on police custody in November following an FBI investigation and his sentencing on the crime will take place in May. The New Zealand Press Association reveals that Walker pleaded guilty to accessing a PC for fraudulent purposes, interfering with computer systems, control of software for committing crime and accessing computer systems without authorizations.
