SONY VAIO VGN-AR11S REVIEW

Introduction
This was actually the first laptop with Blu-ray drive and the first laptop to use 1080i capable display with HDCP decoding capability. This is still a great multimedia laptop and it sells great. Let’s take a closer look at this machine.

Design
The design is large and kind of bulky, the laptop features a 17-inch screen and weights 3,8 KG. The laptop got a black glossy color and looks okay even with the bulky design. I like the fact that they used a lot of chrome around the laptop’s outside edge, it gives more life to the machine. On top of the screen you will find a motion eye webcam which works great and offers good quality. The keyboard looks very attractive and also features high quality. Above they keyboard you will find 8 hotkeys. These can be used to control multimedia facilities etc. The touchpad also works great for me and it matches with the big keyboard.

Performance
When this laptop first came out the performance of it was excellent now 2 years later this is still an excellent machine. The laptop features a Intel Core Duo CPU on 2.0 GHz, 1 GB memory and Nvidia Geforce Go 7600 graphic card. These specs still work okay but you will have slightly problems with the newest games. However this is still great multimedia laptop with good facilities and features. When we did a PCMark test on it we got 4334 PCmarks which is excellent for a 2006 model.

Conclusion
This is an excellent laptop with many good features. The graphics are outdated but still you will be able to play quite many games on it. This is an excellent Multimedia machine with the Blu-ray disk and HD screen. Absolutely an excellent choice if you are looking for a new and cheap multimedia laptop.
