May 3, 1978, Gary Thuerk sent out email that would go into records of the history as the 1st ever spam email. Sent across to a maximum of 393 users on the U.S. Government computer association Arpanet, the email in queries enclosed a billboard for the Digital Equipment Corporation, where actually Gary worked.
