SAMSUNG SSD TO ROCK THE STAGE

Samsung has exposed that the company has started mass producing 1.8-inch and 2.5-inch multi-level cell (MLC)-dependent solid state drives (SSD) in 64GB and 128GB capability variants. The novel solid state drives will characterize remarkably low power expenditure in standby mode at just about 0.2 watts and in active mode at 0.5 watts. Specs wise, the Samsung's MLC-based SSD array will exercise read and write velocities of 90MB/s and 70MB/s correspondingly. Moreover, the novel 128GB SSD will last around 20 times lengthier than the commonly conventional 4-5 year life span of a laptop PC hard drive. Based on SATA 3.0GB/s linage, the 128GB MLC SSD model will consist of 64 MLC NAND flash memory chips of 16 gigabits each, optimized single-chip organizer technology and sophisticated flash-management firmware expertise.
