FSC AMILO SA 3650 WITH GRAPHIC BOOSTER REVIEWED

It can play crisis pretty well but does it live up to all the hype? That is the question we over here at Notebook & Laptop Reviews have been itching to know. And now we finally do.

Basically the idea of Fujitsu and Siemens new laptop was to combine a mobile package with a graphic booster that could provide desktop performance when needed. It sounded good on paper but how does it stack up to the rest of the brew?

The laptop itself comes with an ATI Radeon HD 3200 GPU and while not the best is still much better than the Intel GMA. But when you add the GraphicBooster that is when the good times begin. The only nitpicks about this system is the price and the under performing chipset (thanks to AMD) and lackluster trackpad.

On the bright side the GraphicBooster makes up for those flaws. But it should be noted that the full experience of the GraphicBooster cannot be reached unless connected to an external display. the reason why is that the laptops performance is limited due to the limitations of bandwidth when connecting the add-on port (which is needed by the GraphicBooster). However when the GraphicBooster is conceited directly to a screen (via the direct DVI-I or HDMI ports) you get desktop performance in a laptop machine.

As for asking price, be willing to start writing checks starting at $1,810 for the base model.
