GATEWAY NETBOOK HITS SINGAPORE

Its not like every single company has already released or is planning on releasing a netbook. Heck even Sony who for months has said it was not interested has recently been spotted sending one of their soon to be released netbooks through the paces at the FCC.

Gateway has just released the top selling netbook in the world in Singapore (re badged of course). Meet the LT1001G: an Acer Aspire One model with a Gateway badge. Under the hood you'll find the usual 1.6GHz Atom processor, 1GB DDR2 RAM, 160GB HDD and a retail price for $688 Singapore dollars which works out to roughly $458USD.

The model is also being released with a few other notebooks to help Gateway get back into the Singapore market after they left eight years ago. Hopefully they'll succeed but something tells me they'll need a little more than an Aspire One re badged machine to do the trick.
