By setting your laptop in the hibernate mode you will be able conserve battery power and keep your documents safe when you are away from your laptop. In this article we will show how you can manually set the laptop in the hibernate mode.
Step 1
Click on the Start button; go to Control Panel; double-click Power Options.
Step 2
Click on Hibernate tab; check the ‘Enable hibernation’ option; click OK.
Step 3
Go to Start; select Shut Down. Click on Hibernate.
Users who have enabled ‘Fast User Switching’ will not see the Hibernate option. Instead they will see the options Stand by, Turn Off and Restart. To get the Hibernate option, you need to hold down the Shift key and then the Stand By will change to Hibernate.
Note:
To set the laptop into the Hibernate mode, you need to be logged in as Administrator or have Administrator privileges.
