HP Pavilion DV 7 – 1135 nr - The ultimate design!
The updated version of the DV 3000 series, the DV 7 has similar designs to the earlier models of the DV lineup with the exception of inclusion of Intel Centrino 2 processors to boost its performance. The note book being targeted as an obvious replacement for the desktop has quite a lot of new features which enhance the multi media handling capabilities compared to the earlier DV 3000 series. It has a wide selection features specially for enhancing the multi media applications. The USP of this notebook apart from the amalgamation of its superior features is its pricing.
The DV 7 is considered ‘Bigger and Shinier’ compared to the previous versions of the DV 3000 series. It has exceptional build quality and immaculate performance.
By the external look and feel, the DV 7 is quite identical to the DV 9000 series, though there are certain visual differences between the two. The over all finishing effect is much better compared to the earlier versions, that is despite the fact, that there has been extra use of glossy finish. The glossy finish at some points becomes a bit tedious to handle and work with and is prone to get dirtier with lot of finger print marks which get left behind during and after the use.
The DV 7 has 17’ display screen with 1680 x 1050 pixels display resolutions. The display screen gives out rich colors although becomes a touch reflective at times, when multi media applications are in use. The note book has a frameless display with the flush screen providing better appeal aesthetically. The DV 7, like all other note books from the Pavilion range has a row of LED light buttons which are backlit on the keyboard.
Being a replacement to the desk top machine, the DV 7 has a full sized key board which includes a 10 key numeric keypad as well. The metallic finish keys are very comfortable to operate and use especially when typing long documents. The wide touch pad though is a bit uneasy as it drags a bit more than what the users might prefer. The on/ off buttons on the touch pad are very easy to operate and a very handy, when an external mouse is being used.
The DV 7 has all other user friendly features which have been present the earlier versions as well. Features like Stereo speakers, dual headphone jacks, DVD burner etc. form a standard part of the DV 7.
Price: Approx. $700
