Acer is planning to launch a 15.6 inch 3D notebook by the end of October 2009. It comes with built-in software which is capable of converting regular 2D movies into 3D. The notebook will also offer direct support to 3D movies. Acer jointly built it with Wistron.
Right now, the support for 3D is limited and users are required to wear stereoscopic glasses, but Acer is working on developing a model that doesn’t need glasses.
The notebook will come pre-installed with Windows 7. Acer is also working on developing its third-generation netbooks, which will more or less be like smartbooks with good network connectivity options.
