Olive Telecommunication, a subsidiary of Haier Mobile, has announced India’s first 3G-equipped netbook in collaboration with Tata Teleservices. The device dubbed X107H has the usual netbook specifications including a 1.6GHz processor and 1 GB of RAM. The hard disk capacity is 160GB.
The best selling point of this netbook is indeed its high speed internet access called Photon Plus. Tata Teleservices will provide the data packages necessary for enabling the netbook with the Qualcomm QSC 6085 chipset. The X107H with its wireless broadband service will cost Rs 23,999 (£300).
Olive and Tata also plan to launch ten subsidized netbook models in a couple of months. These models will be priced between 4,999 to 39,999 Rupees (£63 – £500).
