The Colorful S101 NewYork is a netbook from a Chinese PC maker. Contrary to what the name may indicate the device has no association with New York.
The netbook doesn’t have any particularly impressive specifications. It runs on a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor with 160GB hard drive and up to 2GB of RAM.
Notable features of the device include an accelerometer and software that will rotate the display when you hold the netbook on its side. The machine isn’t very slim or light, but it is still portable. The 10 inch display features 600x1024 pixels. The S101 is not a dedicated eBook reader like Amazon Kindle or Sony Reader, but it can still be used for viewing websites.
The accelerometer provides some sort of shock protection for the hard drive. It will shut down the hard drive temporarily in the event of its getting dropped off a desk.
