It seems that Chinese PC makers are busy cloning western netbooks and making them larger in China. Phecda, a PC maker from China, has cloned the HP Mini 5101 and blown it up into a 11.6 inch laptop with a 1366x768 pixels. The device looks much like the HP Mini 5101. It has the same case deign, similar keyboard and touchpad as the HP Mini 5101. Phecda hasn’t changed even the power button and LEDs.
The Phecda device is expected to be sold for around $300, whereas the HP Mini 5101 starts at $400. What about the specs? Well, the HP Mini 5101 indeed has meatier specifications including a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 processor, 2 Mega Pixel webcam and a 7200rpm hard drive. HP also offers the option of a 55WHr battery with Mini 5101.
The Phecda computer has a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor with 1GB of RAM and 160GB hard drive. Other features include 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, 2450mAh battery, and 1.3MB webcam.
