HP has made several all-in-one desktop PCs over the last few years, but most of them have been expensive. The HP Pavilion MS214 is different in being one of the first budget models from the company. It still stands out from the rest in many aspects. While the low-cost all-in-one desktop PCs made by Asus, Lenovo and MSI have Intel Atom processors and GMA 950 graphics, the MS214 comes with an AMD processor and ATI graphics.
The Pavilion MS214 is a full-fledged desktop computer with an 18.5 inch widescreen display. The display features 1366 x 768 pixels. The PC is powered by a 1.5GHz AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core 3250e processor with ATI Radeon HD3200 GPU. It has 2GB of RAM, a 320GB 7200 rpm hard drive and an 8 x DVD burner. The only available connectivity option is WiFi 802.11a/b/g.
Because of its better specifications the HP MS214 is comparable to a notebook than a netbook. And in benchmark tests the computer performs just as well as a notebook with an Intel CULV processor. The HP Pavilion MS214 now retails for about $560.
