SAGER NP5793 LAPTOP REVIEW

Designed for extreme performance, Sager NP5793 is a sleek 17-inch gaming Hunk. It is loaded with the latest of technologies and it takes on most available notebooks in the market head-on, comprising the Nvidia GeForce 8800M-GTX and Intel’s very own Core 2 Extreme processor.

Design
The Sager NP5793 opts out of the glossy plastic trend of the mainstream notebook. Rather, Served with a more understated look, cloaked with smooth matte black plastic. Around the base of the NP5793 is an orange thin border giving the Unit a sophisticated look. The Arena around the keyboard and touchpad are surrounded by a carbon fiber-like border, which appears to bind well from a distance but a close catch is quite detailed. The back of the NP5793's lid is scalped in black brushed aluminum, which ups degree of protection and durability. Another design detail is at the top of the lid a thin strip of glossy plastic. Thin border surrounding the screen is of the same material.

Performance
The Sager NP5793 purely corners at gamers. It is performance boosted to play the latest games at high settings and performance matched with sleek sizing. The NP5793 is reasonably-priced gaming notebook on the market.. The NP5793's competes with the Toshiba Satellite X205 , Dell XPS M1730, and the Alienware Area-51 m15x. X205 and M1730 are dual video card capable. However, even dual 8700M-GT cards in SLI cannot match the single 8800M-GTX in our test unit. The Alienware also offers with the same package as the Sager but priced on the higher side.

NP5793 offers two screens as an option on the NP5793, a matte WSXGA+ (1680x1050) unit and a glossy WUXGA (1920x1200) unit. I would be lying, if I did not say this is one of the best-looking displays I have seen on a 17-inch notebook. The display is gorgeous and is match- made for a high-end notebook like the NP5793.

Two stereo speakers on the NP5793 are located at opposite ends of the rear of the chassis. The sound is pristine. The two speakers are good for music although a good pair of external speakers or headphones is highly recommended. The NP5793 employs a revised cooling system to mettle the Core 2 Extreme processor and Nvidia 8800M-GTX graphics card. Battery life is decent given the configuration and it comes with a 8-Cell Pack. Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit is the OS.

Overall
The Sager NP5793 is tough to beat as a standalone notebook. It spells superb gaming performance, a jaw sagging widescreen display, Solid quality, and High end input devices. Decent battery life is just topping the pie with cherry. The NP5793's downside is the loud cooling system, and without a doubt it will hamper buying decisions. Sager continues to set the top- of the block standard for gaming notebooks and this notebook is no excuse.
