The ASUS N61 is now available for purchase in the US. The notebook is currently available in two versions - one with an Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 2.2GHz processor and the other with a faster Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 2.53GHz. Both notebooks feature the SonicMaster technology which would considerably improve sound quality.
The maximum RAM that can be installed is 4GB. For gaming and graphics there is a 1 GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 220M. The hard disk capacity is 320GB. Optional upgrades that will be eventually available include HDDs of up to 500GB and a NVIDIA GeForce GT 240M GPU. The processor can also be upgraded to Intel Core 2 Quad CPU.
Other features include Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth, 3 USB ports, HDMI/VGA and eSATA, ExpressCard, a multi card reader and Blue-ray. Prices start at $799.
