
HP has announced a ProBook 5310m. This budget-priced notebook is aimed at small and medium businesses. The 13.3 inch 5310m comes with a metal chassis, but still measures less than 1 inch in thickness and weighs only 3.7 pounds.
The ProBook 5310m starts at $699. It can be configured with either a dual-core Intel SU2300 processor or a Core 2 Duo SP9300. HP claims that the notebook will offer up to 7 hours of uptime.
The standard storage option is a 320GB hard disk drive spinning at 7,200 rpm. You can also opt for a 128GB Solid State Drive. The display is LED backlit. Other features include multi-touch touchpad and 4 USB ports. Mobile professionals can configure the machine with integrated EV-DO or HSPA mobile broadband.
HP has included the InstantOn QuickLook OS with this notebook which allows a user to read emails while traveling. You can also write new messages which your computer will send as soon as you have an internet connection. With the QuickWeb feature you can start browsing the Net before fully booting up the computer.
The ProBook 5310m will start shipping in a few weeks.
